Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 1, 2026
DualMac (the iPad app) and DualMac Companion (the Mac app) are published
by Marius Labs. This policy describes what data the apps
handle and where it goes. The short version: we run no servers, we
collect nothing, and your data never reaches us.
1. No account, no backend, no tracking
- DualMac requires no account and has no cloud backend operated by
Marius Labs.
- The apps contain no advertising, no analytics and no tracking SDKs.
- We have no access to your Macs, your files, your screen content, your
credentials or your agent sessions.
2. What stays on your devices
- Machine list and settings are stored locally on your
iPad.
- Credentials (VNC passwords, pairing secrets) are stored
in the device Keychain.
- Screen streams, files and clipboard content travel
directly between your iPad and your Mac, over your local network or your
own private network (for example a Tailscale tailnet). They are never
routed through Marius Labs.
3. Agents (Claude Code & Codex)
DualMac can supervise the Claude Code and Codex command-line tools that
you have installed and signed into on your own Mac. When you
use agent features:
- prompts, responses, file paths and code context are processed on your
Mac by those tools, under your OpenAI and/or Anthropic
accounts, and may be transmitted to those providers by the CLIs according
to their own terms and retention policies;
- DualMac asks for your explicit, revocable consent before the first
time content is sent to an AI provider;
- sharing and controlling agent sessions from the iPad are separate
opt-ins, disabled by default, each confirmed on the Mac with the exact
list of shared data.
Please refer to the privacy policies of
Anthropic and
OpenAI
for how they process content submitted through their tools.
4. Network connections the apps make
- DualMac (iPad) connects only to the Macs you add.
- DualMac Companion (Mac) accepts connections only from
paired iPads on your private network, and periodically checks
dualmac.app for signed software updates (Sparkle). The
update check transmits no personal data.
5. Data deletion
Since nothing is stored on our side, deleting your data is entirely in
your hands: delete the DualMac app from your iPad (this removes local data
and Keychain entries associated with the app) and move DualMac Companion to
the Trash on your Mac. There is nothing to request from us — we hold
nothing.
6. Children
DualMac is a developer utility, not directed at children.
7. Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at
dualmac.app/privacy with an updated
date.
